Mimiko To Sack Information Commissioner, As Cabinet Shake Up Looms

The Ondo State commissioner of Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade is among some commissioners that may be sacked by the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, in a minor cabinet reshufulment that will take place any moment from now.
A government source told PLATFORM NEWSWIRE that the governor was unhappy with the abysmal failure of the commissioner to project the activities of the government since he was appointed, despite hundreds of millions of naira that had been allocated to his ministry since last year.
The issue that embarrassed the state government most was the failure of the commissioner to to put up a good analysis of the achievements of the government he was appointed to project at the recent political debate, organised by BEN TV, a London-based cable television station. The Labour party government was floored by Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) and Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) representatives at the debate.
Governor Mimiko was also said to have been worried by the daily dwindling  image of the government, through the inability of Akinmade to rise up to the challenge of projecting the government at critical moments.
All efforts made to get the reaction of the embattled commissioner failed at the time of going to press.
