Armed gang kills DPO in Delta, son dies in accident

AN Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in charge of Eku police station, Delta State, identified as Mr. Ayoola Adelodun, has been killed by an armed gang.
He was reportedly trailed from his office and shot dead while entering his compound at Eku.
While the family was mourning the gruesome murder of their breadwinner, his son lost his life two days after in a  motorcycle accident and his body has since been deposited in the same morgue with his father.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed the incidents.
He told our reporter: “Few days ago, the DPO, Eku police station was shot in the stomach at about 1930 hours at the entrance of his compound along old Sapele Road Eku by a gang of hoodlums who trailed him from the office . “The officer was rushed to Obiaruku Catholic Hospital where he was confirmed dead and corpse deposited at Ufuoma mortuary, Abraka.
“We arrested three suspects in respect of the killing while the search for other fleeing suspects continues”.
On the death of the son, Muka said: “The son of the late DPO, Kayode Adelodun, 24, was involved in motorcycle accident and died yesterday at Catholic Hospital, Okpara Water Side. His corpse has also been deposited in Ufuoma mortuary Abraka”.
It will be recalled that a killer gang ambushed and killed a former DPO, Obiaruku in Ukwuani local government area of Delta State , Mr. William Agbogoroma  in January this year while responding to a distress call.
