Akeredolu Calls For Removal of Ondo Deputy Commissioner Of Police, Henry Fadairo

The Akeredolu Campaign organization (ACO) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar for the immediate transfer of the Deputy-Commissioner of police in charge of operations in Ondo State, Mr. Henry Fadairo in order to avoid the compromise that could lead to chaos in the coming October governorship election in the State.
This was contained in a press release, issued by the Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy of the Akeredolu Campaign Organisation, Idowu Ajanaku, a copy of which was made available to PLATFORM NEWSWIRE.
IGP Muhammed Abubakar
The release stated that, Fadairo, through his activities has become a tool in the hands of the Labour Party in Ondo to harass, intimidate and molest members of opposition parties in the State. His notorious activities have become firmly rooted in the State since 2009, when he was transferred to the State following the resumption of Governor Olusegun Mimiko after his victory at the court of Appeal in Benin.
“Twice he has been transferred from Ondo to Taraba and Lagos States; twice Fadairo had been brought back to Ondo State with the influence of Governor Mimiko, as he Fadairo has not only become Mimiko’s man Friday but acting like the Deputy Chairman of Labour Party in the State.
The question the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) is asking therefore is that is it only Ondo State Fadairo can work? Why was he transferred outside the State twice and brought back to Ondo State? We want the Inspector General of police to investigate this and move Fadairo out of Ondo State to avoid Chaos,” the release said.
Ajanuka, through the press statement also accused Fadairo as the brain behind the framing up of opposition party members in the State, stating that “many ACN members have been charged to court on frivolous allegation of armed robbers on the instructions of Fadairo, while many of them were refused to be granted bail on the order of this notorious police officer. These types of arrest are spread across the State.”
“Fadairo has now taken his antics to a new level by calling on leaders of opposition parties in Ondo State that he is ready to work with them, to ensure free and fair elections.
For us in ACN, we view the present action as part of the grand plot to prevent him from being transferred from the State, ahead of the election. But we cannot be deceived by the antics of this notorious policeman who has become partisan in his duty,” the release concluded.
