PDP to Expel Segun Adegoke, Over Anti Party Activities

THE NATIONAL headquarters of Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) has concluded plans to expel controversial Ondo-based politician, Chief Segun Adegoke, over allegations of anti party activities.
A source at the PDP national headquarters told PLATFORM NEWSWIRE earlier today that the decision to expel Adegoke and some other members of the party was based on series of petitions written against him over his decision to continue to work against the progress of the Ondo state chapter of PDP by allegedly collecting financial inducements from Governor Olusegun Mimiko, with the aim of carrying out destabilization plans.
The source said, based on the petitions, the Ondo politician has been placed on security watch by the Federal government in view of his antecedents during electioneering campaigns in Ondo state.
“The National headquarters of PDP has received series of petitions and phone calls in regard to Chief Adegoke’s machination against the progress of PDP in Ondo state, especially, by working with Dr Olusegun Mimiko to use the judiciary to destabilize our party. We have tolerated his attitude enough. We expect a man of his age to be a role model to upcoming politicians and not to see life as if there will be no tomorrow,” the source said.
The source added that the PDP leaders intend to carry out the expulsion of the Ondo politician before the October 20 election, so that he would be able to officially defect to Labour Party, instead of pretending to be a PDP member, while campaigning for Governor Mimiko of the Labour Party.
Chief Segun Adegoke could however, not be reached for his comments at the time of going to press.
