Sekooni, Ex Ondo West Council Boss Bags Lomafe Chieftaincy Title

THE IMMEDIATE past Chairman of Ondo West local government, Hon Patrick  Ayokunle Sekooni has been conferred with the title of Lomafe (Igunrin Quarters) of Ondo Kingdom by the Osemawe, HRM, Oba (Dr) VA Kiladejo.
According to information made available to ONDO TRUMPET by his Special Assistant, Mr. Olu Akinsile, the installation of Sekooni will begin with the presentation of Traditional Totem, which is known in the local parlance as “Efun Oye” on Thursday 01, September, 2011 by 1pm.
According to the statement, the “Efun Oye presentation would be celebrated alongside the birthday of the former Council Chairman at his residence on road 12, Funbi Fagun Crescent, Ondo.
Chief Lomafe is among the top hierarchy title of Igunrin quarters and any holder of the title is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring peace and tranquility at all times in the quarter.
By tradition, Lomafe may also be sent on any other special duty as may be deemed by the Osemawe.
Hon Patrick Ayookunle Sekooni, an astute politician of note, was born 43 years ago in Ondo. He was elected as the Councilor of Ward 1 in the old Ondo local government from 1996 to 1997.
After the return of democracy to Nigeria, He was later elected as the Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) between 1998 and 2007 when he resigned the position to vie for the chairmanship contest in Ondo West local government.
He served meritoriously as Executive Chairman, Ondo West local government between 2007 and 2009.
Hon Sekooni is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Igi Aloye (Nig) Limited, Ondo.
 He is happily married to Mrs. Tolulope Sekooni, and the marriage is blessed with bright Children.
