Ministerial list: PDP women group hails inclusion of Akinjoko, Seeks 35% affirmative action implementation

A WOMEN group, under the auspices of the Ondo State PDP opinion Women/Local Government Women Leaders Forum (OSPWOLEF) has lauded the leadership of the party for the inclusion of the names of two of its members, Lady Folake Akinjoko and Mrs. Febi Adeyemi among the ten names included on the list of nominees submitted by the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
In a release issued  by the group  at the end of an emergency  meeting held at the state secretariat  of the  party located along Oyemekun road in Akure, capital  of Ondo State last Tuesday , a copy of which was made available  to ONDO TRUMPET, it described  the inclusion of  the names of  Akinjoko and Adeyemi  as a good development which it said has  further demonstrated  the commitments  of President Jonathan’s  administration  towards  the  upliftment of   the status of women in order to give them  sense of belonging and improving  their lots   in the society.
While pledging its continuous  loyalty, support  and commitment  towards  the progress of the party in the state and the nation in general, the women  in the released signed  by 53 of its members drawn from all  the three senatorial districts of Ondo South, North and central which were also copied to 15 leaders of the party among whom are the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo,  the Acting National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Haliru Mohammed, Hon. Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Josephine Anenih , former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, Senator Bode Olajumoke to mention  a  few,   however  appealed  to the  federal  government  to give more consideration  to women  by increasing  the slot allocated  to them in appointment  in  line  with the 35 percent affirmative action plan   saying such a  move would go a long way to enable women contribute  their quota  positively  to national development.
