EKSG Warns Newly Appointed Local Government Caretaker Chairmen

The Ekiti state government has warned newly appointed Local Government Caretaker Chairmen in the State to shun any act that could make them visit any of the anti graft agencies even as they work together as a team for the realization of the 8-point agenda of the Dr. Kayode Fayemi led administration.

Treasurer, Ekiti ALGON, Mrs. Anthonia Omonusi, Secretary, Barrister Adewale Adekoya, Deputy Governor, Mrs Funmi Olayinka and new Chairman Chief Joel Omoniyi after the inauguration of new Caretaker Chairmen for the sixteen local government in Ado Ekiti.Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka gave the charge at her maiden meeting with the local governments’ helmsmen after they were sworn in by Governor Fayemi also urge them to ensure a completely successful and crisis free tenure in office.

The Deputy Governor who congratulated them for their appointments pointed out that those whose appointment were renewed was based on their performances which their people attested to while that of the new ones was based on the belief and hope of their people that they would perform.

She therefore charged them to work assiduously to actualize their efforts and make their people feel their impact as the administration of Governor Fayemi and Ekiti people would only celebrate success and achievements and not vain promises and efforts that do not yield desired result.

 Mrs. Olayinka also admonished the Caretaker Chairmen to obey and respect constituted authorities and ensure that appropriate organs of the government, especially, those directly responsible for the administration of the Local Government are adequately briefed on their activities from time to time to forestall rumors which could cause disability in the polity.

 The Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka thereafter informed the Caretaker Chairmen that Governor Kayode Fayemi has approved the nomination of Chief Joel Omoniyi, Caretaker Chairman of Efon Local Government Area as the State Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Barrister Adekoya Adewale, Oye Local Government Caretaker Chairman as the ALGON Secretary and Mrs. Anthonia Omonusi, Ekiti East Caretaker Chairperson as the State ALGON Treasurer.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Ekiti State ALGON Chairman, Chief Joel Omoniyi thanked Governor Kayode Fayemi and his Deputy for giving the returnees another opportunity to continue and complete the good work they have started and the newly appointed Chairmen an opportunity to contribute their own quota to the development of their areas too.

He gave the assurance that they would make use of the pieces of advice already giving to them and do everything humanly possible to effect the positive change and development which the administration is expecting at the grassroots.
