Ekiti Woos Investors With Graduates

EKITI State Governor, Kayode Fayemi recently disclosed that the state is the best place to do business in Nigeria because it has the highest number of employable graduates in the country.
“As you are probably aware, the state parades the highest number of graduates in various fields per thousand. The indigenes of the state are quite educated, search for knowledge is our pride.
“The manpower for your industry or business concerns is available in quantity and quality. In essence, you have access to cheap labour to a large extent,” he said.
He however lamented that as available and educated as the productive population of Ekiti citizens are, epileptic power supply and poor roads network still hinder investment drive in the state.
The governor made the statement in Ado Ekiti during the beginnig of the two-day Economic and Development Summit organised by the Ekiti State government to re-draw the economic map of the state.
The governor told captains of industries from all sectors of the economy who thronged the Adetiloye Hall, Ado Ekiti, venue of the summit, that Ekiti produces the highest number of graduates in the country, some of whom he said were still in search of jobs.
“Manpower is available in quantity and in quality in Ekiti State because Ekiti produces the highest number of graduates. And I want to add that the labour here is affordable to any investor and we have them in all your areas of specialization,” he said.
He said the state government had taken steps to access N25 billion bond from the capital market, saying the bond, which he said has been oversubscribed at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), was to provide infrastructures to create enabling environment for intending or operating investors in the state.
Fayemi posited that the move to make Ekiti conducive for investors informed the proposal for the conversion of the new Governor’s Office into Fountain Hotel to boost hospitality business in the State
