Malam Attahiru Isa, PDP youth leader in Masasa ward of Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State has urged the Federal Government to equip the nation's borders with sophisticated gadgets. Isa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Friday that basic equipment would enhance productivity among the security personnel manning the borders.
He said it enable security agencies to monitor the immigrants nto the country.
"Communities at the border areas are facing a lot of security challenges due to porous nature of our nation's borders."
He said the government should as a matter of urgency, look at the possibility of addressing the issues of porous borders.
Isa also called for a coordinated approach from the communities at the border areas in the task of enhancing the nation's security.
