FRSC charges NURTW members on safe-driving in `ember` months

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has advised members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), to comply with the highway codes for safe driving in `ember` months.
The Osun Sector Commander of FRSC, Mrs Aderonke Daniel, gave the advice in Osogbo on Wednesday in her goodwill message at the 7th quadrennial State Delegates Conference of Osun NURTW .
Daniel noted that members of the union constituted the largest users of road across the country, adding that motor accident would be reduced to the barest minimum if all NURTW members respect traffic rules and regulations.
She said that FRSC expectation from the union was very high in terms of collaboration with the commission in reducing carnage on the nation’s roads.
She called on the union members to always abide by traffic rules and regulations, ``stay away from drink-driving, over speeding, overloading and all manners of recklessness that can lead to accident.''
``Have respect for other road users, be committed to safe-driving crusade and sensitise other road users on do’s and don’ts of high way code.
``As we are moving toward the festive period when many people will be travelling through public transportation which NURTW dominate, drive carefully with caution at all time,``she emphasised.

Yasin advised the new executive members to always serve the interest of all members and warned them not to marginalised others in the day to day administration of the union.
