Kebbi Gov. Saidu Dakingari has approved the release of N40 million to complete work on the abandoned state electricity transformer manufacturing company.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that Dakingari disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi on Friday while addressing political and labour leaders who visited his office.
He said the revival of the company was aimed at improving electricity supply to the public, provide employment and generate revenue to the state.
NAN reports that work on the N200 million company begun in 2006 but was yet to be completed due to non release of funds to the contractor.
The governor said the N40 million was the outstanding sum required to complete the project and urged the contractors to speed up work.
